Why we work this way
Disputes start with an item nobody wrote down
What usually damages the relationship between an owner and a contractor is not poor work — it is a vague agreement. "Full finishing" is agreed verbally, and later the two sides disagree about whether that included the doors, the kitchen, or the electrical work.
With no written scope there is no objective way to settle it: each side remembers a different agreement, and the project turns into a repeated negotiation instead of a build.
So we start at the survey and end at a document. Scope, specifications, programme, and what the owner receives at the end of each stage — all written down before either side commits money.
If it is not in the scope of work, it was not agreed.
